4-H Horse show

Addie & Tuffy did very well at the show Sunday.  The pee wee class was very small.  She received grand champion in horsemanship.  So that made 3 grands for her first year.  Not bad at all!!

That's them on the end in halter class- 3yr & older geldings.  I pretty sure Tuffy was the elder of the bunch.  He is 26 yrs.

 She looks super serious here.

This was her favorite part- when she got to ride.  They did walk-trot & western pleasure.

She got a bridle bag, grand ribbon, 2 reds & 2 white ribbons!

I asked her what she wanted to do next year.  "Horse" was her reply. That's my girl!!!!!

4-H FAIR - Dog show

I am glad to say that we (and we I mean- Addie, me, max (the pup), and belle (our lab) survive the 4-H dog show that was held yesterday in this terrible heat at the fair grounds.  I was very relieved when they said the show was over.  I know Addie was.  Addie did very well considering what she had to work with.  She first did showmanship w/ our lab, Belle.  Up to this point, Belle was just our happy go lucky yard dog. Her days consist of laying around, taking a dip in the pond and catching the not-so-lucky rabbit.  I decided that Addie would have better luck getting Belle to pose pretty than Max.  So Belle got to practice the leash bit and have her fist bath in years.  She did pretty well w/ Addie considering how hot she was and all the extra dogs and people around.  Since Addie was the only pee wee, she got to do her class with the only senior class.  A little unfair I thought.  But Addie didn't even seem to notice any different.  She finished and I think was pleased this 73LB dog didn't pull her little frame all over the place.  She received the GRAND CHAMPION SHOWMANSHIP AWARD !!!!!!

Next came Max and his 5 month crazy self.  He did fairly descent at the beginning......but then when Addie tried to get him to sit and stay.  He was pretty much done with all that obedience training.  Addie kept plugging away with him and I think impressed the judge with her sticking with it.  She received a red ribbon with Max and the judge commented that she'll make a good handler.  Awesome!!

All that work paid off with some ribbons and a plaque.  I am proud of how she did and that she stuck with it.  Next year I hope she gives a shot again.  We'll see.

The horse show is Sunday morn.  Info to come on how that goes....

Addie's photography went very well too.  She received 1 purple, 2 blues, 1 red & 1 white.  Her purple got entered amongst all the other purples and hers received GRAND CHAMPION of that class.  (She was the youngest entered) Awesome again!! This pic was her grand champion one... Remember that owl????? ( See older posts)

Summer rec over

Macie finished up her tumbling class this week.  She really enjoyed it and Mr. Casey is great w/ the kids.

Addie had a great time at softball this year.  She really improved from last year.   She hit the ball well and had some great throws to first.  Clint helped coach again and really did great with the girls.
Addie on first and her pal, Caanhan ready for the ball.

Addie and coach Nathan Peters helping with fielding the ball.

Aunt Robyn, Great Aunt Carol, Grandma Susie, Macie, & Grandpa Slim

I think g-ma & g-pa were at every game.  Thanks for coming out.

 Running home....

Part of the team. Great bunch of girls!!

Growing up

Addie has been asking to get her ears pierced for awhile now.  So when the girls and I went to KC this past weekend to hang out w/ Whit & the kids, we decided to make that happen.   She was pretty calm as we arrived at Claire's and she got put in the chair,

Then 2 came at her w/ the guns, and said "Hold still",

She bared down and made this face,

And gave me this look like, "thanks alot for that".

But she got the mirror and had a look and liked what she saw.

I did a quick cleaning and we were off!!

If all her growing up stages go that smoothly I will be so happy!!  But who am I kidding, right?

Grandpa's 90th

The whole Brant gang gathered at my dad's cousins, Patsy's house to celebrate my g-pa's 90th b-day and his brother, Wendel's 89th b-day.  It's always great to get together with everyone and there is a bunch of us.

This wasn't even all of g-pa & g-ma's great grands.

Whit & Laney.  She will be 1 on the 30th. Hard to believe.

My g-pa loves his john deere tractors. So when I saw this I knew he would like it!

Clint kind of has a thing for Laney.
