Flying W Ranch

My girls and I went w/ my parents to a family wedding on Saturday.  It was located in the Flint hills at the Flying W Ranch.  The ranch is located by Cottonwood Falls.  A different relative, Josh Hoy actually runs the ranch and is trying to preserve the flint hills.  The ceremony was held on top of a hill.  It was beautiful scenery and weather.  I could of hung out there all day long.  On a horse, of course!!  The pics do not do it justice.

Draft horses w/ wagons hauled us all up the hill.  You could walk, but it was a little rocky.

Hay bales was perfect seating for this prairie wedding.

The view

Wonderful music entertained. Don't they just fit the part?

My beautiful g-ma and girls

Cousin Kayley and her boyfriend, Cliff

Aunt TK and mom ( yes they are sisters)

Scenery shots

I didn't get a picture of the flowers, but they were all wild flowers they picked that morning.

Down the hill was the bunkhouses. Very cool area.  If you want, you can experience the adventure yourself.

Here comes the bride.....

I had to get some pictures of the girls before we left this area.

This barn held the reception.  Bbq dinner was on the main floor & upstairs was the dance area.
Chuckwagon dinner

Some of the neat decorations... So country.. The pales held wheat, which we sprayed the couple with.

Getting ready for the dance. The girls were excited.

I wish Clint could have made it.  We would have some awesome family pictures.
This road was right behind the barn.  I wish I would have had more time to see where it lead....

They served homemade pies instead of cake.  Very wise choice.

Bride & Groom

We had such a good time.  Wonderful weather, scenery, & visits.  We danced & saw the couple off.  ( Which they didn't hang around very long) HEHE  Thanks to Jim & Kathy Hoy for letting us stay at their house.  They treated us to a great breakfast and the girls a horse ride before we left.  I plan to go back next summer and help out on a cattle roundup!!!  Can't wait to ride through that pretty country.
